TARA MICA

Tara Mica brings 30+ years of state government relations experience to the team, most recently serving as State Director for the National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action across the South and Southwest for two-and-a-half decades. As part of her regional responsibilities, she successfully managed all aspects of legislative and political activity for the organization, including bill analysis and policy research, strategy development and execution, grassroots mobilization and engagement, messaging and communication, direct advocacy, and candidate evaluation and PAC support. Tara has brought her finely-honed skills to CATALYST, expanding our reach and effectiveness in the Texas Capitol.

She served on the American Legislative Exchange Council's former Criminal Justice Task Force and previously co-chaired the Public Safety & Elections Task Force. She resides in Austin, Texas, with her husband Carl, who serves as Deputy Chief of Staff & State Director for U.S. Senator Ted Cruz.
