MITCH DEPRIEST
Mitch has worked in Kansas politics since 2013. He initially became interested in public policy during high school where he participated in policy debate, extemporaneous speech, and congressional debate for 4-years.
Mitch interned at the Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas where he learned about Bob Dole’s legacy of leadership and public service that remains as a guiding light for doing what is right whether in the face of prosperity or adversity.
After interning for Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins in 2016, Mitch went to work for 1861 Consulting (previously Hein Governmental Consulting), one of the premier lobbying groups in Kansas.
Mitch has distinguished himself in the following years as a client coordinator, a lead researcher, and a policy wonk. Having represented more than twenty business and trade organizations Mitch’s expertise covers the gamut of the policy and political spectrum from tax to government regulation and healthcare to professional licensure.
Mitch earned a Bachelor of Sciences in Political Science as well as a Minor in Business from the University of Kansas. During this time Mitch engaged in a number of activities and was recognized by his peers in being selected as the Vice-President of the Beta Upsilon Chi - Brothers Under Christ, Alpha Beta Chapter.
