LIBRARY:  The society houses their library collection at the Newton T. Bass Apple Valley Branch Library, 14901 Dale Evans Parkway, Apple Valley, CA  92307

Catalog of their library holdings can be found HERE.  The collection is non-circulating, but may be access during normal library hours. Society volunteers are able to assist with research at the library on Tuesdays from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and on Thursdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

DUES:  $20 for individual membership / $30 for family membership / $25 for corporate membership

NEWSLETTER:  The society’s newsletter, “The Desert Diggings,”  is published quarterly. Newsletters from the year 2010 are on the website and available for download as a PDF file for your reading enjoyment.  You will find them  HERE.

WEBSITE DATABASES:  An index of the obituaries published in the “Victorville Daily Press” from the year 2000 can be found HERE.

PUBLICATIONS:  “Cemeteries of Victor Valley,” 206 doublesided pages, compiled 1994, $12 + $4 shipping

“Mountain View Cemetery of Barstow,” 56 one-sided pages, published 1998, $12 + $4 shipping

MEETING PLACE:  Victorville ELKS Lodge, No. 1877, 14041 Hesperia Rd., Victorville, CA


There is no meeting for December,  however they are having a Christmas Luncheon on December 10th at 1:30 pm at Mary Ann’s Restaurant in “Old Town” Hesperia, 8832 Orange, Hesperia.

January – Council meeting:  Time and place To Be Announced by President Monika Hall.
Any member is invited to sit in at any Council meeting

January 18th – General meeting – Speaker will be Bill Luther who will talk about Facebook and its use in genealogy.
